Air Nostrum is to start twice-weekly services between Madrid Barajas and Glasgow International Airport on 1 November.
The Spanish airline, a regional franchise partner of national flag carrier Iberia, will operate the route with a two-class, 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200ER. It foresees a combination of business and leisure traffic on the route.
Flights arriving in the Spanish capital from Glasgow will be timed to connect with ongoing services to several regional centres such as Bilbao and Valencia. Air Nostrum said the introduction of the new link follows an upsurge in economic activity between Spain and the UK.
There are currently no nonstop services linking Madrid with Glasgow, according to Innovata schedules.
