Air Pacific has appointed Aubrey Swift as its chief commercial officer.
Swift takes over from Subodh Karnik, who took on the role temporarily while recruitment was ongoing.
Swift will head the commercial activities of Fiji's flag carrier including marketing, planning, revenue management, freight and global sales.
Karnik, meanwhile, continues to assist the airline with several pending and new corporate initiatives.
Swift has held commercial roles at British Airways, Virgin Blue and Virgin Australia and worked as a consultant to various airlines and airports on a number of network planning strategy projects, Air Pacific says.
"Aubrey brings with him a strong understanding of the South Pacific as well as an innovation and a start-up mindset that will help us build on our existing strengths, re-launch us as Fiji Airways next year and move into our next stage of commercial evolution as we focus on more airline partnerships, more efficient distribution strategies, growing our fleet and ultimately new destinations," said Dave Pflieger, Air Pacific's managing director and chief executive.
