Fijian flag carrier Air Pacific has unveiled a new logo that will accompany its relaunch as Fiji Airways next year.
The carrier is dropping its bright colours for a brown brandmark, to be painted on three new Airbus A330s that will enter its fleet starting next March.
It will also revert to its 1951 name of Fiji Airways as it enters the final phase of its re-branding and restructuring next year. The full re-branding is due to be complete by end 2013.
The new brandmark has a "masi symbol" which embodies the spirit of the nation, its culture and also the airline's transformation, says the carrier.
"It was over a year ago that we started work on this ambitious project to re-brand our airline and design a new brandmark for the new Fiji Airways," says its chief executive David Pflieger. "While the new name had a lot of history associated with it, we decided that we wanted a new and distinctly Fijian symbol and brandmark that would help us best represent the country while also ensuring our planes stand out at some of the world's busiest international airports."
