French Polynesian carrier Air Tahiti Nui has contracted Lufthansa Technik to support the CFM International CFM56-5C engines of its all-Airbus A340-300 fleet.

The airline inked an eight-year deal with the German maintenance provider for 21 engines, covering repair and overhaul work as well as other support services.

This includes engine component repair, spare part pooling and leasing services, logistics, maintenance management and employment of mobile airline support teams.

Spare parts will be stored at LHT's warehouses in Frankfurt and Hamburg, while engines will be repaired at the MRO provider's CFM56 overhaul shop in Hamburg.
