SIA'S PAPERLESS CABIN

Singapore Airlines has begun the move to a paperless cabin, testing electronic versions of its in-flight magazines on its Panasonic Avionics in-flight entertainment systems. SIA is initially offering the service on two Airbus A380s and two Boeing 777-300ERs.


EVOLUTION APPROVED

CFM International has received US and European certification for its CFM56-7BE Evolution engine, which will power the Boeing 737 Next Generation family. The engine, which promises a 1% fuel burn improvement, is scheduled to enter service in mid-2011.
