Air Wisconsin names Johnson VP of maintenance

US Regional carrier Air Wisconsin Airlines has appointed Keith Johnson as vice president of maintenance. He will report directly to the airline's president and chief executive officer James Rankin.

In his new position, Johnson is taking responsibility for all decisions related to serviceability, airworthiness and flight safety and will serve as the carrier's primary maintenance link with the the US FAA and other regulatory bodies, says Air Wisconsin.

In addition, he will also oversee its efforts in maximising cost effectiveness, while ensuring operational reliability, adds the carrier.

Previously, Johnson served at the Lockheed Aeromod Centre as an aircraft mechanic. Later, he worked for Delta Air Lines at several positions from aircraft maintenance technician to general manager.

Johnson also served Delta's affiliate Comair as a director of planning and analysis and director of aircraft repair and overhaul.
