AirAsia has announced that it will increase frequencies on three routes in east Malaysia from 15 November.
The budget carrier will boost its Kuching-Bintulu services from once to twice daily, while Kota Kinabalu-Tawau services will grow from 17 to 25 times weekly. The carrier will also add a new daily service on the Johor Bahru-Kota Kinabalu route, taking it up to thrice daily frequency.
All of the flights will be operated with 180-seat Airbus A320s.
Innovata schedules show that on the Kuching-Bintulu route AirAsia competes with MASWings and Malaysia Airlines, while on the other routes it competes only with Malaysia Airlines.
