AirAsia has issued a statement reiterating that the proposed initial public offering (IPO) of its Indonesian and Thai affiliates are on schedule.
The statement was made after its "public relation team was misquoted in a recent interview", said AirAsia.
Thai AirAsia is submitting an application to Thai regulators for an IPO "early first quarter 2012", with the Indonesia listing to follow "shortly after".
"Both IPOs are on schedule with regards to the due diligence process and the seeking of regulatory approval," said AirAsia. "We have always maintained the actual listing will be dependent on market conditions."
"In short, both Thailand and Indonesia continue to perform strongly heading into 2012," said Tony Fernandes, AirAsia group's CEO.
