AirAsia Japan applies for AOC

AirAsia and All Nippon Airways (ANA) joint venture AirAsia Japan has applied for an Air Operators Certificate from the civil Aviation Bureau of Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

The low cost carrier will be based at Narita International airport and plans to commence services to Sapporo, Fukuoka and Okinawa from August 2012.

In addition, the airline will begin service to Seoul/Incheon and Busan starting October 2012.

AirAsia Japan will operate the routes using Airbus A320 aircraft.
