Malaysian low-cost carrier AirAsia will end its daily Penang-Hong Kong service on 4 March, citing commercial reasons and the realignment of route planning.
Starting 1 February, the carrier will increase the frequencies of 12 routes out of Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Penang and Kota Kinabalu.
It will add a daily service to routes from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok, Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Kuching and Johor Bahru.
The airline will also add a daily service to its Kota Kinabalu-Kuching, Johor Bahru-Penang and Johor Bahru-Kuching routes.
Its Johor Bahru-Sibu and Penang-Kuching routes will, meanwhile, have three additional weekly services, while the Johor Bahru-Miri and Penang-Kota Kinabalu routes will have four additional weekly services, adds AirAsia.
