Long-haul low-cost operator AirAsia X is preparing to unveil an aircraft order with Airbus during an event this week.
AirAsia X has a fleet of Airbus A330s and A340s and the carrier has 10 A350-900s on order.
The carrier has not disclosed details of the agreement but says the event will centre on signing “new major Airbus aircraft orders”.
AirAsia X has scheduled the event for 18 December, with chief executive Azran Osman-Rani and director Tony Fernandes attending.
Airbus data shows that the airline has 26 A330-300s on order of which 11 have been delivered, as well as the A350s.
