Pakistani carrier Airblue has suspended services from Lahore to Birmingham after two months operating the route.
Birmingham airport says the decision was "driven purely by aircraft availability issues, not passenger demand" and that it has been "reassured" that flights will be resumed in spring 2014.
"Since commencing services at the end of September this year, Airblue’s operation has been very successful, carrying more than 4,500 passengers and reaching 100% load factors on many flights into Birmingham," the airport says.
The airline inaugurated the twice-weekly service on 28 September, using an Airbus A340. Innovata schedules data shows it was the only scheduled route between the two cities.
