Airbus China appoints new president

Airbus China has appointed Eric Chen as its president, replacing Laurence Barron who has taken over as chief executive and chairman of EADS China.

Chen most recently served as the company's senior vice-president commercial and external affairs.

Rafael Gonzalez-Ripoll-Garzon has also been appointed as chief operating officer of Airbus China.

Previously, he headed Airbus's centre of excellence for empennage and aft fuselage design in Spain.

Both appointments are effective 1 January.
