Asian carrier Tigerair’s order for 37 Airbus A320neo jets dominated the airframer’s activity during May.

While there were no long-haul aircraft deals added to the books, Airbus reinforced its single-aisle backlog with 70 more jets.

Delta Air Lines’ order for 15 A321s featured alongside agreements from Royal Brunei Airlines, EasyJet, Air New Zealand and a number of lessors.

They took Airbus’s gross orders for 2014 to more than 300 aircraft, although cancellations – including nine A320s in May – brought the net figure back to 203.

Airbus achieved deliveries of 248 aircraft over the first five months of the year.
