Airbus reveals unidentified order for 45 A320s

Airbus has disclosed an order for 45 single-aisle aircraft in its latest order backlog, attributed to an unidentified customer.

The airframer’s records show that it signed an order on 15 July – during the week of the Farnborough air show – for 38 A320s and seven A321s.

Airbus has not indicated whether these agreement is for re-engined versions of the jets.

The airframer did not record orders for any long-haul aircraft in July. It has yet to firm any of the agreements for the A330neo disclosed during the Farnborough air show.

Airbus’s gross orders for the first seven months of the year reached 980 aircraft, with 705 net. It delivered 352 aircraft over the period.
