EADS' Eurocopter division has signed an agreement to manufacture doors for the Airbus A350 XWB twin-jet.
The agreement, valued at €1.5 billion ($1.9 billion), will involve construction of the door systems at the Eurocopter facility in Donauworth, Germany.
"It confirms our position as an experienced and highly-skilled manufacturer of aircraft components," says Eurocopter Group president Lutz Bertling.
Some of the programme work is being subcontracted to partners in South Korea.
Delivery of the first door systems, for testing purposes, is scheduled to take place at the end of this year.
