TU-204 DELIVERIES

Air China will receive its first two Tupolev Tu-204-120CEs by year-end, with three more in 2007. The order, which includes 10 options, was signed in 2001, but has been delayed.


AIRBUS A321 FOR SHANGHAI

Shanghai Airlines has placed its first Airbus order with a deal for five A321s for delivery in 2009 and 2010. The airline, which has an all-Boeing fleet, says it no longer wants to be dependent on the US airframer.

State-owned AVIC I has confirmed plans to manufacture an airliner that can take at least 150 passengers, putting it in competition with Airbus and Boeing. It plans to design the aircraft over the next five years.
