AirTran Airways is adding services to Portland, Maine and Seattle to its Baltimore/Washington International Airport network.

The five-weekly Seattle/Tacoma International Airport service will begin on May 24; the Portland daily will follow on June 7.

AirTran does not say which aircraft from its fleet of Boeing 717s and Boeing 737-700s will be used in these markets.

These will be the only scheduled nonstop services between the airports, although United Airlines does offer several flights a day to both Portland and Seattle from its Washington Dulles hub. Alaska Airlines also operates a twice daily Boeing 737-800 service from Dulles to its Seattle hub.
