AirTran to launch Florida service from LaGuardia

AirTran Airways will compete with legacy and budget carriers when it links New York LaGuardia airport with Tampa International and Daytona Beach International airports with nonstop service starting February 14.

AirTran will also increase service between LaGuardia and Orlando International airport to thrice daily.

American Airlines and Delta Air Lines fly from LaGuardia to Tampa; Continental Airlines, JetBlue Airways and USA3000 also connect New York and Tampa, according to Innovata.

While no carrier connect LaGuardia and Daytona Beach, Continental flies from elsewhere in the New York metro area to Daytona Beach, according to Innovata.

American, Continental, JetBlue and Delta also fly between New York and Orlando, according to Innovata.
