Low-cost carrier AirTran Airways will compete with leisure carrier Allegiant Air on flights between the Orlando, Florida area and Lehigh Valley International airport in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Orlando-headquartered AirTran will introduce a single daily flight on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 26 June between Orlando International airport and Lehigh Valley International, the airline's 62nd destination.
The city pair comes as Allegiant flies nine times per week between Lehigh Valley International and Sanford, Florida's Orlando Sanford International airport, roughly 35 miles (56km) north of Orlando International, according to Innovata.
AirTran will also inaugurate flights between Lehigh Valley International and Fort Lauderdale, Florida's Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International airport on 25 June.
Fort Lauderdale flights will be offered once daily on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
