Wizz Air has contracted UK component maintenance specialist AJ Walter Aviation to supply spare parts.
The Hungarian budget carrier signed a three-year general terms agreement covering on-demand component support for 40 Airbus A320s. Rotable components will be provided on a sale, loan or exchange basis “outside of the airline’s existing support contracts”, says AJW.
Lufthansa Technik and Wizz Air have a component maintenance agreement which will expire in 2017.
The new deal is the airline’s first with AJW.
Today, Wizz Air operates a fleet comprising 44 International Aero Engines V2500-powered A320s, and has orders for 68 additional aircraft, Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows.
