Thales and UK parts specialist AJ Walter Aviation have formed a partnership for avionics repair.
The deal covers line- and shop-replaceable equipment built by the French manufacturer for Airbus and Boeing narrow- and widebody aircraft.
AJW’s component shop in Montreal, AJW Technique, will be accredited with “authorised repair capability” while the UK aftermarket company will gain access to Thales’ MRO facilities in France, Singapore and the USA, it says.
The co-operation and “related exclusivity” will enable both organisations to operate as “true partners”, adds AJW.
Francois Piolet – vice-president and general manager for Thales’ avionics service division in Europe, the Middle East and Africa – says the agreement demonstrates the manufacturer’s willingness to secure “valuable” MRO partnerships.
