Alaska Airlines has placed new orders for three Boeing 737-900ERs.

Boeing revealed the order on its orders and deliveries web site on 26 June.

The first of the three 737-900ERs will be delivered in 2014, according to the Ascend database. The other two aircraft will be received by Alaska Airlines in 2016.

Alaska Airlines now has a total of 25 737s in its backlog, including two 737-800s with winglets and the remainder being 737-900ERs, the Ascend database shows.

The order increased Boeing's net sales of aircraft so far this year to 425, including 413 net orders for 737s.
