SkyTeam carrier Alitalia has resumed its flights between Italy and Libya after an eight month suspension.

The airline will operate four-times weekly flights from Rome Fiumicino airport to Tripoli.

Currently flights are operated on the Tripoli Mitiga airport, but in the next few days operations will shift to the Tripoli International airport.

Alitalia said it is the first European Union airline to have restarted its operation of commercial (passenger and cargo) flights to and from Libya.
