Allegiant Airlines will launch twice-weekly flights between Bellingham, Washington, and Reno, Nevada, beginning 6 June.
The flights will operate Thursday and Sunday on a McDonnell Douglas MD-80 family aircraft.
"We are pleased to bring another affordable and convenient travel option to the residents of Bellingham," says Allegiant president Andrew Levy in a media release. "We are confident the Bellingham community will appreciate the convenience of flying nonstop to Reno-Tahoe and the value of bundling their air, hotel and car rental reservation together."
With the flights to Reno, which is about 20 miles (32km) from the resort area of Lake Tahoe in California, Allegiant will operate close to 50 weekly flights from Bellingham, which sits on the US-Canadian border.
The airline flies from Bellingham to Honolulu and Maui in Hawaii, Las Vegas, Phoenix-Mesa and the California cities of Oakland, Los Angeles, Palm Springs and San Diego.
The Bellingham-Reno service will double the carrier's presence at Reno, where Allegiant currently has two weekly flights to Las Vegas.
