US low-cost carrier Allegiant Air's passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) declined 2.8% in July compared to the same month last year.
The carrier's passenger traffic for its scheduled services grew by 7.2% during the month, while capacity increased by 7.3%, leading to a 0.2 percentage point decline in the load factor to 93.1%, says the airline.
Passenger numbers in July increased 4.3% year-on-year to 667,000.
Allegiant expects its scheduled capacity to grow 19% in August and by 15% to 19% in the third quarter. It estimates that its scheduled capacity will grow by 22% to 26% in the fourth quarter.
