Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) will perform two Boeing 737-400SF conversions for Nigeria's Allied Air.

The carrier can also elect to convert an option for an additional freighter into a firm order.

The first 11-pallet freighter configuration will begin in June at Flightstar Aircraft Services in Jacksonville, Florida.

"With our first AEI B737-400SF now in operation we are seeing the financial benefits of the 11 pallet design," says Val Tongo, chief executive of Allied Air. "The AEI B737-400SFs are replacing all of our 727-200s and our dispatch reliability is now at an all-time high."

AEI has already converted six Boeing 727-200s and one 737-400SF.
