Egyptian carrier AlMasria Universal Airlines has contracted Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) for an engine-related AOG event on one of its Airbus A320-family aircraft.
No details have been revealed about the incident. But the Franco-Dutch MRO provider says that both of the twinjet's CFM56-5B engines were removed for a shop visit and that it provided two spare lease powerplants for the aircraft.
AlMasria operates a fleet of two A320s and two A321s, according to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database. Only one of the A321s is equipped with CFM56s, however, while the other aircraft are fitted with International Aero Engines V2500 powerplants.
