Aerosur is planning to add a Boeing 777 to its diverse fleet next year as the Bolivian carrier further expands its international operation.
Assistant president Constantino Klaric says the first 777 is scheduled to be delivered next year and will be used to increase its Santa Cruz-Madrid service to daily. Aerosur currently operates Santa Cruz-Madrid three times per week using a Boeing 747-400 subleased from Virgin Atlantic Airways. The carrier recently added a 767-200ER, which it plans to use to launch service next month from Santa Cruz to Barcelona and Washington Dulles. Klaric says Aerosur is also planning to add a 747 freighter next year and replace ageing 737 and 727s.
