Amadeus 2012 profits increase 18% to €575 million

GDS provider Amadeus has recorded 18% growth in adjusted profits for 2012, reaching €575 million ($752 million).

Revenue grew 7.5% to €2.91 billion, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 6.6% to €1.11 billion.

Consolidated debt was also reduced by €357 million to €1.5 billion.

Amadeus expanded its global market share of travel agency air bookings by 0.9 percentage points during the year, boosting its dominance to 38.6%.

For the fourth quarter to 31 December 2012, Amadeus's revenue grew 4.6% to €677 million, while EBITDA rose 7.1% to €218 million.

Adjusted profits for the quarter rose 8.2% to €93.8 million, compared with €86.6 million in the same period a year ago.
