American Airlines and AerCap are seeking court approval of the sale and leaseback (SLB) of six Boeing 737-800s, as part of a previously announced deal for up to 35 of the type.
The 14-year leases cover aircraft with manufacturer's serial numbers 31185, 31189, 31192, 33234, 33327 and 33492, according to a filing with the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on 3 July. Deliveries are from this November through May 2014.
At least 11 737s have been delivered to American under its SLB with AerCap, according to court documents. The agreement was signed in July 2011.
Wells Fargo is trustee on the deal. SkyWorks Capital is financial advisor to American.
