Following the creation of a new frequent flyer pact in June, American Airlines and Etihad have forged a new agreement allowing customers to redeem miles on flights booked in each carrier's network.

The two airlines forged their recent agreement allowing passengers to earn miles on flights in their respective networks after creating a codeshare agreement in August 2009.

At the time they revealed their frequent flyer cooperation, American and Etihad stated they intended to expand the agreement at a later date to include mileage redemption across their networks.
