American Airlines and International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) have received bankruptcy court approval to proceed with a sale-leaseback for a Boeing 737-800.

The aircraft (N907NN and MSN 31158) will be delivered by the airframer on or around 6 November, according to a filing by the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on 5 November.

ILFC is understood to have financed the aircraft on balance sheet with existing funds. Wilmington Trust is trustee.

The sale-leaseback is part of a deal for 15 737-800s between American and ILFC that was signed in November 2011, before the airline filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
