American Airlines and SMBC Aviation Capital are seeking court approval for the sale and leaseback (SLB) of eight Boeing 737-800s.

The aircraft will be delivered from this July through December 2014, according to a court filing on 6 June. They are manufacturer's serial numbers 31177, 31190, 31203, 32100, 33230, 33231, 33232 and 33331.

Wells Fargo is trustee and SkyWorks Capital advised American on the deal.

A court hearing on the deal is scheduled in New York on 27 June.
