American Airlines and US Airways have offered concessions in order to win approval from the European Commission for their proposed merger.
The European Commission's competition watchdog disclosed that concessions had been submitted and a hearing scheduled for 6 August on its website.
The concessions are likely to include slots or gates at Europe's most congested - and sought after - airports, such as London Heathrow.
Both Fort Worth-based American and Tempe, Arizona-based US Airways decline to comment.
American and US Airways are also working with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) for antitrust approval of their merger. Pending approval, they anticipate the deal to close by the end of September.
