American Airlines is cutting its flight schedule by 1% to 2% for the rest of September and October, as it manages its aircraft and staff availability.
"We are constantly evaluating our schedule based on operational and staffing resources, as well as seasonal demand, making adjustments when necessary," says American. "The schedule adjustments we are implementing will ensure we provide our customers with reliable service while minimising any impact to their travel plans."
The airline is facing a possible pilot sick out and increased aircraft maintenance reports, according to local reports.
The Allied Pilots Association is conducting a strike vote of American's pilots. It is scheduled to be complete by 3 October.
