American Airlines will begin new nonstop service between Dallas-Fort Worth and Charleston, West Virginia, from 12 June, after it cuts service to Columbus, Georgia.

The new once daily flight between Dallas and Charleston will be flown on a 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200. American serves the West Virginia capital once daily from New York LaGuardia.

Flights between Dallas and Columbus will end on 11 June.

"American Airlines continually evaluates its network to meet customers' needs and strengthen our presence in our key hubs," it says on the decision.

American will be the only airline flying between Dallas-Fort Worth and Charleston, according to Innovata schedules.
