American Airlines has confirmed the diversion of one of its Boeing 767-300 aircraft to Reykjavik, Iceland after reports of fumes circulating in the cabin.

The aircraft was operating a scheduled flight from Paris to Dallas/Fort Worth.

American says the aircraft was carrying 133 passengers and 12 crew, and the carrier is currently working to send an alternative aircraft to pick up the passengers travelling on the aircraft so they can continue their journey.

"No further details are available at this time, but engineers are currently investigating the potential source of any fumes," says American.
