American Airlines will launch new daily service between Dallas/Fort Worth International airport and Shanghai Pudong International airport on 11 June.
The Oneworld carrier will begin selling tickets for the route on 2 February, which will be flown with a 247-seat Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
No other airlines operate that route today, Innovata schedules show.
The route will complement American’s flights between Shanghai and its hubs at Los Angeles International and Chicago O’Hare International airports.
"The Asia-Pacific region continues to grow as a key market for international commerce, and we wish to thank the Civil Aviation Administration of China for providing us with the airport departure and landing time slots to begin service in the Dallas/Fort Worth-Shanghai market," says American Airlines president Scott Kirby.
American first announced plans to add new daily flights from Dallas/Fort Worth to Shanghai in October, in addition to service from Dallas/Forth Worth to Hong Kong International with a Boeing 777-300ER.
