American Airlines will launch new nonstop flights between Dallas-Fort Worth and Bogota, Colombia, from 21 November.
The once daily flight will be operated on the Fort Worth-based Oneworld alliance member's new 128-seat Airbus A319 aircraft, which it has said are ideal for routes to hot and high airports.
Bogota's El Dorado International airport is about 2,500m above sea level.
No other airlines fly on the route, Innovata schedules show. American serves Bogota thrice daily from its Miami hub.
The airline will take delivery of its first A319 later this month.
