Star Alliance carriers All Nippon Airways (ANA) and TAM Airlines have entered into a codeshare agreement that will come into effect on 15 October.

Under the agreement, TAM Airlines will place its code on daily ANA flights between Tokyo's Narita Airport and London-Heathrow. ANA will place its code on daily TAM flights between London-Heathrow and Guarulhos in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

"The cooperation with TAM Airlines will enable us to connect Sao Paulo, South America's largest business market, and ANA's major international hub in Tokyo, enhancing our position in the South American market," says Keisuke Okada, ANA's executive vice-president, alliances and international affairs.

The deal is subject to government approval, say the carriers.
