ANA domestic passenger traffic up 0.5% in December

Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) has posted a 0.5% increase in domestic passenger traffic in December 2011, compared with the same period a year ago.

Its domestic capacity, measured in ASKs, decreased by 3.1% year on year, while total passenger numbers were up by 0.4% at 2.97 million, the Star Alliance member said. This resulted in a domestic load factor of 58.5%.

On international routes, the airline's RPKs increased by 10.3%, ASKs grew by 8.0% and passenger numbers rose by 16.0% to 501,000, resulting in a load factor of 74.4% for the month.

The volume of international cargo carried by the airline increased by 2.2% to 47,400 tonnes, while domestic cargo volume decreased by 0.5% to 49,500 tonnes.
