Boeing 787 Dreamliner launch customer All Nippon Airways (ANA) will operate the new aircraft to its first destinations in the US, Seattle and San Jose, from next year.
The Star Alliance carrier said it will operate the 787 on flights from Tokyo Narita airport to the two US cities from its fiscal 2012 year, which begins in April.
"We are very pleased to announce the launch of further international Dreamliner services to these two new destinations on the west coast of the United States. We will make full use of the efficiencies of the 787 as well as capitalising on our close relationship with United and Continental Airlines to enhance the competitiveness of our joint ventures with these two Star Alliance partners," said ANA president and CEO Shinichiro Ito.
ANA had ordered 55 787s and received its first in September. The airline has said it aims to have 11 787s in service by the end of its fiscal year on 31 March 2012.
