ANA to suspend some domestic routes and add new cargo flights

All Nippon Airways (ANA) plans to launch new cargo flights and suspend some domestic services as part of its network revision for the winter season.

It will suspend five domestic routes from 31 October: Nagoya-Tokushima, Nagoya-Yonago, Osaka Itami-Odatenoshiro, Osaka Itami-Iwami and Osaka Itami-Saga.

However, it plans to resume flights between Tokyo Haneda and Tokushima, as landing slots become available at Tokyo Haneda. It will operate thrice weekly on the route, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, says ANA.

On the cargo front, the Star Alliance carrier plans to start five new routes.

These are: Qingdao-Osaka Kansai, Tokyo Narita-Dalian, Tokyo Narita-Dalian-Osaka Kansai, Osaka Kansai-Tianjin, Osaka Kansai-Tianjin-Tokyo Narita.

ANA will operate weekly on each of the routes, using Boeing 767-300 freighters.
