Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) has increased its 2011 net profit forecast by 40% to Japanese yen (Y) 28 billion ($343 million) from the January forecast of Y20 billion.

With the revision, the carrier expects to post operating revenues of Y1.41 trillion, up from Y1.4 Trillion expected in January.

ANA says operating revenues grew by approximately Y11 billion due to strong demand in tourism and other factors, in spite of sluggish business demand for air transport on domestic routes.

The airline's operating income has been revised up to Y97 billion, from Y90 billion expected previously.

The carrier says reduced operating expenses and other factors will help its operating income.
