Peach Aviation has appointed the former chairman of Ryanair, Patrick Murphy, as its corporate advisor.

Murphy, who was appointed as chairman of Ryanair in 1991, left the company in 1994 to start his career as a consultant and advisor to airlines.

Peach Aviation is 33.4% owned by All Nippon Airways (ANA). Hong Kong investment firm Innovation Network Corp of Japan (INCJ) has a 33.3% stake, while Hong Kong's First Investment Group owns the remaining 33.3% stake, the maximum foreign ownership currently allowed in Japan.

It has applied to Japan's civil aviation bureau for an air operators certificate. It intends to launch flights from Osaka's Kansai Airport to Sapporo/Shin-Chitose and Fukuoka by March 2012, and Seoul's Incheon Airport in May 2012.
