Lufthansa Group load factors improved 1.6 percentage points to 80.5% in October, rising across all its member airlines.
The improvement followed a 3.9% increase in traffic compared with October 2012. As capacity was only lifted 1.8%, this resulted in the improved load factor.
Lufthansa and its revamped short-haul operator Germanwings drove the improved load factor, up 1.9% percentage points to 79.7%.
Load factors at Swiss were up 0.4 percentage points to 84.2% in October, while Austrian Airlines was up one percentage point to 80%.
It rounds off a month where load factors were up at a number of European operators, including Air France-KLM, EasyJet, Ryanair and - by more than three percentage points - Finnair. Load factors though slipped two points at Irish carrier Aer Lingus.
