Commercial aircraft net orders came in at 57 for January 2014 where 65 new orders were offset by eight cancellations.
In the highlight of the month, SaudiGulf Airlines ordered 16 Bombardier CSeries, Air Algerie placed an order for eight Boeing 737-800s while American Airlines ordered seven A321-200s.
New orders for Boeing totalled 37 while Bombardier, Airbus and Sukhoi received 16, ten and two, respectively.
In the narrwobody market, a total of 33 737s were ordered, including 20 for the Max variant, while 16 CSeries and eight A320 family aircraft orders were placed. In the widebody sector, four 777s and two A350s were ordered while the regional order of the month was for two Sukhoi Superjet 100s.
Overall, the commercial aircraft order backlog ended January at 12,562, down 27 on the previous month.
