Commercial aircraft net orders came in at 255 for October 2013 with another 12 cancellations and ten swaps.
In the highlights of the month, Mexican low cost airline VivaAerobus ordered 40 A320neo aircraft and 12 A320s while JetBlue Airways ordered 20 A321neo variants and 15 A321s. Japan Airlines placed an order for 28 A350s while Aerolineas Argentinas ordered 20 737s.
New orders for Airbus totalled 154 while Boeing and ATR received 78 and 15 respectively.
In the narrowbody market, 95 A320 family aircraft were ordered including 60 for the re-engined neo while a total of 42 737 Max aircraft and 22 737s were ordered. In the widebody market, orders for 39 A350s, 20 A330s, six 777s, five 747s and three 787s were placed. The regional orders of the month included 15 ATR72s.
Overall, the commercial aircraft order backlog ended September at 12,160, up 120 on the previous month.
