Airservices Australia has appointed Angus Houston as its new chairman.

Houston, a retired Australian Defence Force chief, will be replacing David Forsyth when the latter's second term expires next year.

The appointment will be effective on 3 June 2012.

Airservices Australia has been working closely with the Royal Australian Air Force to harmonise civil and military air traffic management and Houston's appointment is seen to be able to aid that.
